The Campanologist's Tea Cup 2015

The Campanologist's Tea Cup is a interactive sound sculpture, created by I.Murphy & J.Pigott, which exploits the sonorous qualities of ceramics. The viewer is invited to ping a bone china  tea cup to activate a series of electro mechanical arms which bounce rubber balls within the horns. Each ping of the cup results in a unique ceramic cacophony. The piece was initially exhibited as part of the Sensorial Object at Craft in the Bay Cardiff, and subsequently shown at the British Ceramic Biennial Award Show, in the Spode factory in September 2015.
